Long Distance Vision, Ian Potter Centre, 4 December 2009.

This is part of the reason why I was in Melbourne.

Ian Potter Centre, Federation Square.

A semi retrospective of works by Ricky Swallows.

Completely met my expectations. Amazing work as usual.

Ricky Swallows now has five books about his art practice.

Ben Ong reminded me that this work was by Destiny Deacon.

Long Distance Vision was an exhibition featuring three Australian photographers. Matthew Sleeth, Max Pam and Christine Godden. All three are good photographers, except one. The reasoning behind the exhibition was a bit of a stretch.

Dennis Hopper had an exhibition at ACMI.

A replica of Hopper's bike in Easy Rider.

A replica of Mel Gibson's car in Mad Max. And in case you were wondering, it's not the same one used by Shaun Gladwell at Venice.

There was an exhibition of old video game consoles at ACMI.

This is the Dennis Hopper exhibition. I've seen some of the works before overseas. It's strange to see them again closer to home. Each time a work is exhibited in a new location it takes on a new personality.

Team Mx pep talk before the rumble.

Analogue Art Map project was fantastic. People sent in little draw maps to their secrete places from all over the world.

Behind the scenes at the Sticky zine store.

This man was flirting with the lady minding the Sticky Store. He pretended he needed help with the badge maker so she could give him a hand. Seeing adults flirt is embarrassing.

Victoria Craft Gallery. One of my favourite galleries to visit.

I attended the opening Fresh! 2009 at Victoria Craft. Even though 2009 would end in a few weeks, so it wasn't so fresh anymore. Didn't know anyone there so it felt weird. Like starting over again.

Family Blue Pring by Sarah Deed. Jump suits made from Ikea bags. There's even one for your dog.

Fold/Field by Emma Lashmar. Blown Glass, nylon thread, water and instrument machine heads. Fair dinkum.
